Mason's 1st Grade Program 'BUGZ'

Mason had his end-of-the-year program for 1st grade this past Friday.  The program was all about bugs, and it was very cute.  Mason had the role of an army ant!  Here he is entering the gym.
Mason and his good buddy Marshall, both as army ants.

Getting ready...

Some of his sweet classmates.

Picnic song.

Mason's turn to say his speaking part, I could tell he was excited and nervous.  He did really well.

2nd part of his chant.

Notice the extra legs... totally critical to the performance. :)

Mom got a photo with the little performer.

Mr. Kindergarten

What happened to my little guy?  Where did five and 1/2 years go?  Here we are the first day of kindergarten for Mason.  He was so super, duper excited.
We started the day with Mason's all time favorite breakfast: Chocolate chip pancakes with syrup on the side in a little cup.  Yum!
A kiss for mom before dad takes me to school.

Last Zoo visit of the Summer

We ended our summer on a high note by heading out for one last trip to the zoo.  Mason and Sophia both really enjoyed the visit.  We had super weather, and it wasn't very crowded.  A+++

Heading out in the little red wagon.
Check out these cuties at the train station.
Zoo-fari express!
Playground fun.
Mason and Sophie turned into a two-headed turtle!
My attempt to catch the golden eagle in flight right above my head.  Kinda blurry but wow!

Mason's first soccer game '09 Spring season

What a difference a year makes!  Mason had fun last year on his team with his friends, but didn't get too involved in actually kicking the ball.  We had his first game of the season this past Saturday and he was all over the field.  He really had a fun time!   He scored a few goals, one of which was for the other team... watching 4 and 5 year olds play soccer is very funny for the spectators!
Going for the ball.
Mason and his good buddy Gibson who were on the same team last year too.
Sophia cheered for her brother the whole game, and only ate two of the treats I brought for the team after the game :)
Teammates and friends.
What a handsome little soccer star.  Go yellow team!!!

A trip to the garden

We had a great time at Red Butte Gardens this past week.  The daffodils were gorgeous, the company was grand, and a good time was had by all.  Well, except by Sophia the last ten minutes we were there... :)
They have this great sand pit the kids just love in the children's garden section.  The tub was full of red sand that night!
Here's Ella and Alexandra walking the garden hand in hand.  So sweet!
This is how two year olds play.  Chase me, chase me!  Avery and Sophia loved this snake trail.
Mason and Gibson, handsome guys!
The one picture I got of the kids with the pretty flowers in the background.  We love spring!
