Boo at the Zoo

This past Saturday we headed out nice and early to the local "Boo at the Zoo" for lots of fun with trick or treating, and looking at animals.  It was VERY crowded.  It's always been such a fun event, and I'm sure glad we got there early- but it was almost too much.  The kids had fun though and everyone loved their costumes.

Mason (or as I should say Optimus Prime)  in the tunnel at the playground.
Riding on the Zoo train, which there wasn't many people on..
Posing for a picture in their costumes.

Supergirl's chariot for the day.

Gardner Village Adventures

This local historic village near us does a Halloween witch exhibit, so we headed out last Thursday to check it out.  Here's some of the fun we had.

Sitting a spell with this witch..  Sophia wasn't so sure about this.

Little Miss Sophia determined to pull this wagon with about 5 pumpkins in it.
Mason by some corn husks, such a good little model for me :)
Yes we had a visit to the candy store, here they are saying CANDY!!!!!!
Sophia showing some love to a pumpkin, so sweet-
Just some of the witches, Mason really liked this one making a brew.
Pumpkin house, this goes all around this little hut- more impressive in person.  But there must be 300 pumpkins surrounding this house.

Crunchy fall leaves

Sometimes I complain about living in Utah...the snow, the lack of family nearby etc, etc...  Sometimes I forget that we sure do have beautiful seasons here.  This fall has been spectacular, the colors, the weather and the traditions that come with this time of year.  Here's Mason and I having fun raking and Mason playing in the leaves...  When you have young children- you get the privilege of seeing things through their eyes- raking leaves isn't a chore, it's FUN!

Time to pick pumpkins!

The kids and I headed out on a beautiful fall day to the nursery to pick some pumpkins.  We had a great time, this place really does it right.  They had a hay-bale maze, a pirate ship complete with smoke, and lots of fun photo opportunities.  Mommy picked a cool green pumpkin that looks like a witch would grow it, Mason picked a small striped one, and Sophia picked a baby round fatty.   Check out our fun time....
Here's the three of us on our way out.
Sophia hangin' out on the wagon.
Mason on the pirate ship....
Sitting on a pile of pumpkins.
Sophia's close encounter with the pirate.
Look at Mason making his poor little sister pull him around on the wagon!
Look at these cuties!
Just liked this one.

Tagged! By my sis-in-law Aimee :)

Tag Rules:  Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.  Tag 6 fellow bloggers.  Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger's blogs letting them know they've been tagged.

1) I am a procrastinator/perfectionist.  This is weird.  If I know I don't have time to do something perfect and just the way I want...I will put it off until I can do it the way I want to do it.  Sometimes, things just never get done- but I have some GRAND plans in my head I tell ya!

2)  I love airports.   The sense of going somewhere different, the people watching, the magazine purchasing, the picking up of family members.  Love it all.

3)   I am addicted to lipgloss, it's a problem.

4)  I am probably the worlds messiest cook.  My mom can attest to this and there is some special favor owed to her for letting me learn to cook in her house growing up.  I'm not kidding, it is like a tornado landed in my kitchen when I am really cooking up a storm.

5)  I don't like orange juice or circuses.  But for different reasons.

6)  I dedicate this to Rhonda and my mom...  I don't like socks.  Even in winter.  I do wear them with shoes and boots- but they come off as soon as I can take them off.  I don't sleep with socks, I can't do it.  They make my feet feel dry to me.

Ok, now the fun part...  I get to tag Rhonda, Christen, Amy A., Laurel, and Jenny L.  Get blogging you guys!

Fire Safety

Just a cute picture of Mason and Sophia at the local Fire Station for their fire prevention week.  We got to see them extricate a pretend person out of a car, and other safety demonstrations.  The best part was the hats I think :)

Hold me closer tiny dancer....

Sophia started some Mommy & Me dance classes for 2 year olds last week, it was her birthday gift from Grandpa Len and Grandma Ladybug.  She loves it, they do a dance with teddy bears, jumping like Tigger and lots of fun stretching exercises.  Plus, you just can't resist the tiny ballerina outfits!  Thanks for a great B-day gift!

Hey grandma Nati, what do you think of her form?  Prima Ballerina??

Artistic abilities of Mason

Some recent artwork from Mason.  The first one is a self portrait.  And, his name.

This one is from an all about me day they did at preschool.  To translate, his favorite food is waffle sticks, and his family is Matt and I.  He says his favorite toy is a circle...hmmm.  I think he may have been "done" with this project by that time and just drew whatever popped into his head..  Very sweet though.

Millcreek Canyon Cookout

On Thursday, we headed up the canyon for some hot-dogs, tinfoil dinners, and s'mores for dessert.  This is something I've been wanting to do all summer...and we picked the PERFECT day.  The colors of fall were peaking, making for some gorgeous backgrounds.  The kids loved running around in the woods, collecting leaves and of course cooking their dinner and dessert!  All the fun of camping- but getting to come home and take a hot shower and sleep in your own bed....are we cheaters?

Getting both of them to look at the camera and smile is a challenge...
Such a fun day!
The family photo...notice Mason's funny face- he was trying so hard to be a good boy and look at the red light on the camera waiting for the timer to take our picture.  And Sophia has a "Funyun" in her mouth....  Funny!
Mason cooking his turkey-dog.
What a sweet kiss for mommy....

Happy 2nd Birthday Sophia!

Our baby turned two on Sunday, we can hardly believe it!  We did a lot of celebrating... in California with Matt's family and then our own little family party when we got back.  Happy Birthday Sophia, I love your smile and silly ways.  You are the best at trying new things and having fun.  I love the little things you say, and our conversations.  You are a sweet little sister to Mason, always telling him "Hi Mason" when you wake up.

Here's her California cake, and Mason with his party horn helping her blow out the candles.
Opening presents with her cousin, Ashlynn.
Another cake at home, Happy Birthday!
Trying out her Barbie SuperWheels from Grampa Charlie and Grandma Nati.  Thanks guys!
Riding off into the sunset on her new wheels.  I hope she drives this straight when she's a teenager :)  May all your wishes come true for this year Sophie!  xoxox
