My Six Things

Ok.  I am going to be a sport Jenny.  6 little-known things about myself.  I am having a hard time because I think some people are going to be like" oh, I knew all those things about you"  am I an open book?  Let's see...

1)  I cannot make decisions  I am constantly second guessing myself and the decisions I make.  Say I am in a store trying to decide on shampoo.  It may literally take my 8-10 minutes to deliberate, read the backs, think about my hair texture and make a choice.  It is excruciating for Matt to deal with, and I'm sure my children also.  Then, just when I think I have made a choice and am o.k. with it, I move along with my shopping trip.  Only to be back at the shampoo isle 15 minutes later to change my mind once again.  Meanwhile Mason sits in the cart saying "Mama, I wanted to see the TOYS"

2)  I am very lazy in some ways  I hate hanging up my clothes.  This is a constant battle in my bedroom.  I come home, I change an outfit and I lay those clothes on my bed for me to put away "later".  Then when I do go to bed, of course I am too exhausted to hang up said clothes and they move to the chair.  About once a week I do a big "hanging-up" party in my room.

3)  I won't go to the circus, or haven't in 11 years  I've always had a soft spot for elephants; after all they are one of the only other mammals that cries.   Not to get all PETA on you, but about 10 years ago I saw this show on Animal Planet (where else?) about how they train and get the elephants to do all these amazing tricks.  Let's just say it's not nice.  It BROKE MY HEART.  I was sobbing as I watched.  I swore I would not go to another circus.  But, if one of my kids asks me one day... I may have to go.

4)  I taught myself to sew  I never took Home Ec. (is that even how you spell it?) in high school.  I missed out on sewing the fuzzy pillow and other things I saw my friends bring home.  When I was about 28 I got a sewing machine as a gift, and have taught myself how to sew.  I have made some quite stunning items, and I think I am quite talented at it.  Who would have thunk it?

5)  I don't like orange juice  This is just silly.  Yep, I don't care for it.  Yeah, yeah it's all healthy for you.  It's made from fresh florida Oranges.  It's not for me.  I did find this one kind that I can stomach every once in awhile...it's like 1/2 orange juice or something.  Matt buys it.

Well, there you go.  And TAG- Cassie let's hear 'em.  Six things.  Go.

The little sister

This picture just cracks me up.  Just the little sibling interaction that goes on between Mason and Sophia...We get all dressed up and try to take some cute pictures of them, and Sophia was just NOT into it.  Mason was trying to be soooo cooperative, telling Sophie to smile and be a good girl.  Really, a picture is worth 1000 words here.

The smell of a real tree

Here are just some pictures of us setting up the tree.  Mason really got into it this year...being so careful with the ornaments (even though they are all from Target :)  and finding a good spot for each one.  He has been waiting so patiently to get out the Christmas train, and was so so SO excited to turn it on and watch it go around the tree.

I heart ELMO

These past few weeks, Elmo has changed my life.  In the following ways:
-Sophia LOVES the little red guy.  Although she calls him "nono", she will happily sit and watch Elmo while I take a minute to shower or tackle another household chore.
-Mason will also still watch Elmo, so that means both are happy and occupied.  I have yet to find another thing that will keep them both content and entertained.
Just wanted to give some well-deserved credit to Elmo.  That is all.

Architectural Genius

Look at the freaking icing people.  This is no joke.  Happy holidays from the Molloy kitchen.

Sledding

This is colder than it looks.  I was back in the car about 3 minutes after this shot.  lol Nice pic, Steph.

My name is Pearl

So we got our first BIG snowfall of the year, it started Friday night and went on half of Saturday.  Of course Mason was thrilled, he had to go out in his P.J.'s and boots just to check it out first thing in the morning.  We all went out later and build a very friendly little snowman.  I asked Mason what his name was, and he answered "Pearl".  So here is Pearl our snowman, and some other fun pictures of the winter wonderland in our yard.

The best chefs....are 4 year olds.

A recent discovery we made, is that Mason is an awesome little cook.  He can level off flour, help measure, and roll and cut cookies.  I think we will put him to work more often in the kitchen.  And better than his baking, was eating our Christmas cookies with a cold glass of milk.

Visit from Gramma Ladybug

We are so lucky to host my mom a.k.a. Gramma Ladybug since last Wednesday.  We had lots of fun trick-or-treating, went to the local children's museum, braved IKEA, did lot of mom-daughter fun and squeezed in a few dates for myself and Matt.  Thanks for the great visit mom!
Here's Gramma bug and Mason out in the yard playing with Tiggy.

Here's some of the girls outside feeding the ducks and hanging out at the park.

And some more outside...

Candy Fatigue

Too much Halloween makes Mason very, very tired.

Pumpkins

Here are our pumpkins from this year.  Mason liked helping scoop out the seeds, lighting the candle and making the pumpkins "glow".

A Knight to remember

Happy Halloween!  What a fun day.  This has been the first year Mason has been really into Halloween.  He loved his costume, he loved telling people what he and Sophia were dressing up as, and he thought Trick-or-Treating was so fun.  We went to a few houses with Gramma Ladybug and he announced, "Grandma, this is a great idea!"  As if we were the first ever to think of it.  So cute.  He was such a polite little Knight, thanking everyone for the treat.  He chose to eat his chocolate eyeball as the one favorite treat before bed last night.
Sophia liked being a ladybug, she didn't care for the first house we went to.  I think she thought I was going to hand her off to the lady there.   After that she was happy and the cutest little bug I've ever seen!
